Hawaiian Gammon Like Mother Used to Make


Gammon rashers, with brown sugar,mustard,orange juice,white sauce and pineapple rings.Quick and easy recipe to add a tasty twist to gammon.

Gammon Rasher

HAWAIIAN GAMMON-4 servings

Ingredients

1) 1 oz.soft brown sugar
2) 1 level tsp dry mustard
3) 4 Gammon rashers
4) 2 tbsp corn oil
5) 1 lb.can of pineapple rings
6) Juice of 1 orange
7) 1 packet savoury white sauce mix
8) 1-2 cloves (optional)

METHOD

a) Mix mustard and sugar together,sprinkle over rashers and rub in well

b) Fry the rashers on both sides until tender,about 10 minutes

c) Drain juice from pineapple,add orange juice and make up to 1/2 pint with water if necessary

d) Make up the white sauce as directed on the packet,but use the 1/2 pint fruit juice in place of milk

e) Remove gammon from the pan,pour off excess oil

f) Replace gammon in the pan,pour sauce over,add cloves if liked,and pineaple rings and cook for a further 5 minutes

g) Serve with spinach and creamed potatoes.
